Ontario has some of the most spectacular views of the area.  Got to the trailhead at 7 am and there was plenty of parking (Wed).  Ice house is always a wonderful experience.    I don't notice the gain in elevation so much due to the awesome sounds and views. The second half after the saddle is a also spectacular.  If I were younger, I would love to stay at the campground,.  Did it slow, talked to people.  Still was mostly alone which is a plus for me.  Was talking with a gal on the way home and it turns out she lives in my neighbor and is an avid hiker…anther win from the 6 Pack Challenge for me 🙂

  1. Congrats, I have a husky and so far Ive been lucky enough to take her on my 3 peaks. How did yours handle Ontario?

    1. He was tired the last 3 miles but that is new this year. He is 9. He pulled all the way in and out for both Cucamonga and Ontario. Baldy, he was tired too. We both snack/water all the way up and down. He LOVES to hike!!! Loses his mind when I get the pack out. I have to sneak everything into the car and wear different clothes when I go without him.
