In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have done this less than 2 days after an intense CrossFit workout and after a stressful work week. Pace was high at the start and by first peak was overheated. Dressed too warm for the weather with pants over shorts and a T-Shirt. Stripped down to just shorts and was much better. After the first peak there was a gnarly downhill, then pretty intense climbing from there. Took a handful of several minute breaks on the way up. Had ~2L of water with electrolyte tabs, but was not enough. Recommend snacks and energy or recovery supplements. Gloves proved useful for scrambling up and even better for descending down steep sections backwards while looking through legs and using cables to hang onto. Only saw maybe 15 people, but barely finished before dark. Thought I would finish in 2.5 hours, but all in with breaks took about 3.
