What a fun adventure! Driving on the dirt road shortly after sunrise in my Nissan was the start of my adventure. When I arrived, there were maybe 4 other cars in the parking lot. I love arriving early like that!
Not being from Arizona, I was impressed with all of the rocks in the surrounding area. Wow! Those are some beauties.
I really enjoyed this hike — there were plenty of yellow wildflowers for the first few miles on both sides of the trail. I took many, many photos (but they're still sitting on my Canon — haven't had a chance to go through all my memory cards yet.)
The overall hike was enjoyable — when I reached the saddle, I was surprised I was there already!
I suppose after some of the tougher hikes where there was extreme ascent, this was a bit of a surprise 😉
I liked seeing Weaver's Needle in the back — all hidden. Kind of popped up out of nowhere!
On the hike, one hiker passed me and I ended up hiking the last 1.5 miles with another hiker — that was IT!
Coming down, the descent was a much different story. There were groups of people, and the parking lot was fully. Sure happy I started early!
