Conquered Piestewa Peak in about an hour and a half (up and down) – what a great little work out! I did this the same day at Flatiron (what was I thinking! …besides maximizing my time in Arizona).
The manmade “steps” were helpful, though I do prefer more natural trails.
Because of its central location, the trail was pretty crowded, though when I got to the peak itself, there were only three other people up there. Maybe everyone else was taking a leisurely stroll, or was veering off onto other trails?
The hike, overall, was fairly easy. It’s a good urban hike. (Again, my preference is to be a little more remote)
I could see it being a nice place early in the morning or just before sunset. (I was there about 2:00 p.m. or so.)
Nice views of the greater Phoenix area from the top.
