Back in December I did this hike to support my friend Jenny, who was registered for the 2019 Challenge, in foul weather. Because of Jenny's scheduling commitments it was then or not at all. It was cold, wet and windy on the peak and we stayed barely long enough to take a couple of selfies. Having done that figured I might as well sign up for the full series this year. And we decided to schedule this one early to make sure we were able to do it in decent weather. And we couldn't have chosen a better day! Our group has grown to 4 – Me, Jenny, Laura and Laurelyn, all Girl Scout backpacking leaders.  We started at the Sunol trailhead and spent the night at Eagle's Eyrie. Laura and I did some geocaching on the way in, and also nabbed the cache at the summit and one close to. Everything went perfectly except for Jenny's knee which was bothering her on the downhills.

Waiting to get photos from Jenny

  1. Posted the date wrong. We set out on Feb 20, hit the peak on Feb 21. I haven’t yet figured out how to edit the post so am correcting here.
