Very nice out and back trail to Rose Peak. It was nice weather, sunny but not too hot and a wonderful fresh breeze. This would be a tough hike to do in summer on a hot day as a lot of it is exposed. Even tough it is one of the longest hikes, this hike was very doable as there is no steep climbing like on Mt Sizer, except for maybe a very short section but that has no name. We did get confused when we crossed a large field with cows who were staring us down and missed the path when it crossed a broader path as there was no sign at this spot. However it turned out for the better as we ended up on a trail that ran parallel to the original trail but with less ups and downs and got back to the original trial without a problem. While it was very dry, we did see still many wildflowers and butterflies, especially close to the peak. Gorgeous hike!

  1. Very nice! Looks like the perfect weather for that hike! Last time I went up there it was cold and windy and there were patches of snow! It’s crazy how much it can change in a few months. Have you ever been there in January?
