Super hot the day we went but we hiked during the heat wave. Should’ve checked the weather beforehand. The first half of the hike is shaded while the second half isn’t. You’ll be lucky to hit the shade on your way back if you hike early enough. Also, be aware that the small parking lot isn’t the start of the trailhead. You have to drive almost an hour in on a rocky pothole road and then you’ll reach the start of the trailhead. Drive slow and don’t rush or else you’ll mess up your car. I recommend an SUV or a truck at least. Otherwise, the hike was easy/moderate depending on your skill level. Wear sunscreen and a hat.
