Misty mountain day until the last mile or so to the top. Perfect temperatures in the 60’s. The trail was wet to start with few on the grasses and lots of poison oak right next to the trail. Encountered a ton of unique wildflowers and new growth after the fire. The trail has about 5 water crossings but no need to get your feet wet if you are careful. A couple downed trees where you had to duck under or climb over. Many fresh cougar tracks starting up the right side of the loop going counter clockwise almost to the top. We saw two California Newts near the turn off for the falls. Careful they are toxic. So cute but watch your dog or children don’t touch them. Lovely day out on the trail!
