Ok, first, believe all the reports that currently the gate to Maple Springs is closed, which means if the small parking lot is full, we had to park .4 miles and then walk the paved road, then the fire road to 4 corners. Added a TON of miles and time. A shortcut on the way down allowed us to make it to the car by sunset. But learned for a local that because of the rains, the gate has remained closed to cars for now. Lots of deep water crossings. Definitely wear your boots and bring your poles. Highly recommend watching Hiking Guys' tips. We're gonna try Holy Jim the next time.
