Absolutely beautiful hike with amazing desert flora to view up close. The initial 1 mile is crossing the desert floor, followed by an ascent through switchbacks to the ridgeline. Cutting across the ridgelines is absolutely breathtaking with endless views of the desert and mountains in all directions. It was very windy in the last 1-2 miles and especially on the peak. Starting early in the morning helps with limiting the impact of the sun. The trail was in great condition and 8 rangers/volunteers were actively working on maintenance of the upper portions of the trail.
