It was a beautiful hike. The last 1/2 miles is very steep and covered in fine loose dirt and rocks making it very slippery. This was my very first time every hiking a peak, I was not wearing the proper foot ware, just basic running shoes, which caused me to slip and fall a few times on the way down that last 1/2 mile. Word of advice to other newbies – get the right shoes and bring bandaids!
