  • Beautiful blue bird day to try and summit Mt. Bachelor. Started at West Village at the base and skinned up Leeway which is the designated uphill route in winter. Took a break at the Pine Martin Lodge then after hearing the summit was in good shape, we headed uphill to the summit. Because of the ice, we had to take our skiis off and hike. The final push to the summit was challenging as I was trying to carry my skiis in one hand and climb up in my ski boots. But we made it to the top, took some victory photos then took the skins off and skiis down. Definitely an adventure!

  1. That is AWESOME! And definitely a first for the challenge.

My wife and I are just signed up to learn to ski, as soon as she gets back from New Mexico. Not that I’ll be attempting this any time soon (or probably ever), but I’m stoked you did it!
