Hiked this back to back with Mt Tam. But even before logging this, I have to check again the previous write ups from other hikers that completed it to make sure I had the right mountain 😁. If not for the radio/cell towers and the rocks, probably still thinking it wasn’t the right place.

I find this  ‘peak’ a bit unusual and seems that mother nature just set the rock outcropping just in this area and nowhere else. As soon as I got to this place, noone is around and one more time, the doubt crawled back in again if it’s the right one. Didn’t find the survey marker that some people were able to take photos of but that’s ok as long as the rocks on my sidw😂😂. Took some selfies, of course, and headed to parking. This parking lot reminded me of where I parked hiking Mt Diablo, with that golden brown grass laced the trails upon starting.

The hike wasn’t difficult but what made it interesting was the rattlesnake that was chilling out across the trail on my way back. It took a few minutes before it let me pass😩 i’d seen a few snakes hiking but my first rattlesnake.
