Decided to hike up this one today, my friend had hiked it before and said it was not that hard. So we set out. I parked on woods road, as I hiked this trail in the past and we started up. We went on to a trail intersection.. unmarked. But I had remembered it having a gay and claiming it was closed when I hiked it a while back. It had to be the way to the top. So off we went.
There was a point where we saw a high glossed sign saying peak 3.5 miles.. parking lot .10 wow.. we hiked 4.9 miles and we could have drove up this far. Oh well.. kept on tracking.
We made it to the top. The stairs at the top were a kick in the groin after doing 8.8 miles. We took some pics. Judged the people who just drove up to the parking lot here. Drank some water and turned around. This time when we got to the high gloss sign with 12.9 miles under our belt we decided to hit the road and cut some miles off our treck. We took the road back, were unsuccessful at hitchhiking but when we saw the car we were ecstatic. One of us may have cried.
Honestly I really liked the hike. A challenge for sure.

Id hike back on the trail though and not the road. were we cut out from the parking lot. the road was unforgiving, we would have taken the trail, but we were worried about time as we ddint get the earliest start.
