Unbeknownst to me, on Friday August 14th the Bay Area heat wave was to begin. Although I started off early enough, it became extremely hot that afternoon, especially on my descent. Grateful for the shade on the Matt Davis trail, the coastal breeze, and the exhilarating sight of Los Farallones, I finished in the afternoon, greeted by the 103 degree reading in my car. Five down, one to go, but who knows with the fires now when I'll get to Mt Sizer.
