I wanted to complete Piestewa during less busy hours, so I chose to go later afternoon during the week to avoid the crowds. Parking was simple (not common here during peak hours) and the trail, although more crowded than I like, was minimally busy. The weather was great and I had enough time to sit at summit and admire the sunset before I began my descent back down.
My biggest disappointment was witnessing a lady litter and then debate with her friend whether she should leave her empty, plastic bottle on the trail or off trail. I didn't hesitate as I told her I would just take it with me. If you pack it in, please be prepared to pack it out.
