The hike to Santiago Peak was tame compared to the drive up  Maple Springs Rd to the trailhead. Somehow, my little Kia Soul braved the drive up with ease handling all the bumps along the way. It was an overcast day which worked out well since there is barely any shade along this route. I hiked with a friend and a few members of Black Men Hike L.A but I could've done this hike solo. The trail was pretty empty in the morning when we started but started to get really busy with high clearance vehicles around 12 pm on our way back down. So I'm done with bagging peaks Orange County and now its time to make my way to L.A.!!
