My partner and I hit the trail by 7am so we could “stop and smell the flowers” as well as get out in front of the crowds. The morning was cool, but comfortable. This trail becomes steep and requires some scrambling about 1.5 miles in. When in doubt stay left. We continued beyond the turn to Flatiron on Superstition Ridgeline, turning left shortly up to the top of the summit (my pic is looking SW down on Flatiron). From here we got a 360 deg view of the valley, Superstition Mountains and Tonto National Forest. You get a different perspective of Weaver's Needle and Four Peaks. We walked out to the end of Flatiron for some more pictures before heading down. With our side trips we logged almost 8mi meeting some nice people along the way.
