Treacherous Cucamonga Peak

The terrain caught me off guard a bit. I was surprise the amount of rocks…everywhere. I loved the breath taking view once I made it to the top. I had a slight mishap at the end. I was .4 miles from my car. I slipped on some wet rocks, losing my balance and falling causing my arm and wrist to be pinned between a boulder. I dislocated my thumb, but thankfully my daughter hiked this trail with me and was able to pop it back into place. I am glad to see my $120,000 for her college education came in handy (athletic training courses). Not the most difficult hike, but again, those rocks took their toll on my feet and knees.

  1. Ouch! I hope your thumb is feeling better!

This trail is rocky (as are many sections on the trails in the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge) and whenever I’ve had a slip or fall, 9 times out of 10 it’s on the way back down.
