Historic Trailhead

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

It was clear enough today to see Mt Adams, nearly 200 miles from Black Butte. Temps were perfect and winds were low. Snow starts as you come around the last bend before the summit, but no spikes were needed today. Much of the summit area (which I had all to myself for a little while) is snow free. Balsam root is barely getting started near the historic trailhead.
