Trail was about a 2 hour drive from our house so my son and I started out fairy early as it was suppose to get warm and there isn't any shade on this hike. There were only a couple of other cars in the lot when we arrived and began the hike at 8:15am. It was 51 degrees so perfect weather. The hike is pretty with the tall Saguaros everywhere and the wildflowers blooming all kinds of oranges, yellows, purples, pinks and whites. The cacti are “just” getting ready to bloom ~ still a little early for that. The trail is pretty rocky ascending but if you go down the other side of the peak (Hugh Norris Trail) rather than returning the same direction it is a much nicer trail for the descent. I don't think I would want to descend on the super rocky side (hard on the feet and ankles). Good view from the top of Wasson – can see for miles. The trail took us 3 hours and 45 min in total with time for a snack at the top. By the time we got back to the car it was 72 degrees so we were glad to have done it early enough to beat the warmer temps.
