Shoe spikes was a must to make for safe travels. Ice/snow at beginning and off/on to the saddle.
As usual, the saddle super windy and a bit sketch bc trees had icicles. With the wind, it caused icicles to fall. I didn’t want to stay there long due to that danger.
Trail up to Ontario peak. Snow packed but thankful for clear trail due to heavy trafficking.
Traveled to the Spring and felt the same. When will this end? When you think “it’s” the peak. Nope. Keep going.
The final few miles back to the trailhead, it got super icy (temps dropping).
Took longer than expected but happy to make it happen.
