One more thing, I've seen different info regarding getting a wilderness permit for this hike and San Jacinto. What is the best method for obtaining a permit?

I’d be going from the Marion Mountain trailhead. The tram is actually going to be closed for a month or so for maintenance during that time. But thanks for the resource; I’ll check it out.
