Belknap Crater

Walked the lava flow ..lovely fall colors ! Passed Little Belknap on the right and then a little further we (Dave W my hiking partner)

Hiked the PCT from Santiam Pass to McKenzie Pass with side trip to the top of Belknap Crater.

We decided to hike Belknap Crater for extra credit, since we had already hiked Maiden Peak before the fire closure. Interesting hike through the forest,

When we saw that the Maiden peak had an alternate because of the fire, we decided to do it also, so that we'd bag SEVEN

We already hiked Maiden Peak, but wanted to also hike this optional peak, guess we’re overachievers!  Lots of lava rocks (hard on doggy paws) on Belknap
