Winds were high but weather conditions were clear. No bugs, but volcanic rock made footing difficult for quite a distance.
Great hike with incredible views of Mt Shasta and surrounding area.  Accessing trailhead is not obvious.  Don’t rely solely on apple or google maps.  Get
It was a beautiful morning for this hike- sunny but not too hot. There was lots of shade for at least 2/3 of the hike
It took a little longer to get through Sisters due to the rodeo, but the trail head at Black Butte only had a few cars
The trail is completely snow free and the bees are loving all the Manzanita and Serviceberry that is blooming. Â Only a few other people on
