castle peak

On Saturday 6/1 I could not lure anyone to go with me so I “free soloed” Castle Peak located off highway 80 just NW of Donner

So glad we waited to do this hike in the snow, jk Covid happened and this was our 4th reschedule. The snow was 1-2 feet

What a way to end! An absolute gorgeous day (cold but sunny, though windy at the summit). Lots of snow, but mostly packed and easy

Beautiful day and super fun trail.  Cold at the top and for most of the day.  Basin was also a highlight!

I failed to check the wind speeds and faced a very very windy day. However, still enjoyable and made for a completely empty trail. Beautiful

My first long hike with my cat! It’s was a challenge but she did it 🙂
