Did this in December. Great time of year to do this hike.  There isn’t much shade so I can’t imagine what it would have been

Perhaps not the worst, but with so much elevation gain on the way back and with the steepness of much of the trail, EL Cahon

Up and down hike coming and going. Crazy elevation change, bring twice as much water than you think you need.

Wow. This hike was unforgiving. Rolling inclines. My legs were done after this one. Hardest hike in SD thus far.
