Volcan Mountain

Well maintained trail, thankfully a nice cool breeze kicked in since this was my second summit in one day.  Beautiful trail, I saw a coyote,

My friend and I had took a day trip to San Diego to hike two different SoCal 6-Pack peaks (originally Volcan Mountain and Cuyamaca Peak).

I saw a lot of wild life, including a coyote, a rattlesnake, two bunnies, 4 deer, numerous hawks and red-headed woodpeckers, one golden finch, 3

Started this hike right before sunrise. It is well defined and relatively easy. The “easy” gives you a chance to really take it all in.

Started right at 5am and had about 10-15 minutes of headlamp hiking, opted to take the Five Oaks Trail instead of the service road and

Done this hike before it’s always a beautiful hike love all the Manzanita definitely will do it again
