Volcan Mountain

There were great panoramic views at the summit and a beautiful hike

Trail conditions were great. 40°F Sunny and windy at the summit. A good amount of other hikers and dogs enjoying the beautiful day!

We started at the road and trip total was 5.55 miles, 1,390ft of gain, and took a little over 2hrs including time at the top.

Lovely incline hike – it was a pleasant, unexpected surprise to see a lone stand of large cedars and the forest at around 5,000 feet. 

Our pup was super excited to hike and practically pulled me up the hill head swinging side to side to take in all the good

1/1/2024 Dual peak hike: Cuyamaca & Volcan. Volcan: a steady steep incline with few short breaks made it for a tough 2nd peak of the
