Mount San Jacinto

Great day on up to Mt. San Jacinto Peak.  Last 2 miles mircrospikes recommended.

Lots of snow 1-mile in with spikes a must to summit. Challenging hike with varying snow conditions (soft, ice, slush)

You definitely need snow grips , hiking poles would be helpful as well. We weren’t expecting so much snow at the peak (being May) luckily

Caught the first tram on Saturday, and started running around 8:20. Lots of climbers with crash pads on the tram, so space was limited even

A six-pack complete! Fun hike on a beautiful day! Way more snow than we were expecting.

Weather at the Ranger station was about 39 at the beginning of my hike around 0900. Rangers were saying micro spikes at the very least
