We took the trail up from Lake Poway. It is a very nice trail. It starts out with steady uphill for quite a while, and then you get to the steps and the switchbacks. Those are quite a workout. A beautiful Ridgeline trail along the top with spectacular boulders and granite formations all along the way on the upper half. Potato Chip Rock is well worth the visit, a very cool piece of nature. The very top is covered with antenna installations, but there are some great viewpoints if you walk down around the edges of those
