Intermittent snow - not hard to cross
I was itching for some elevation, so I hit Black Butte again. By this time of year, it’s usually covered in a good amount of snow, but with the West experiencing an extreme and sad snow deficit, it was totally doable. I headed up with our local Six Peaks group several weeks ago, and we had clear skies. This time, Black Butte offered some mystery, with no distant peaks in sight.
