Manzanita Alley
Another great day on trail! Arrived at the trailhead right around 0630 and headed out around 0640. Temps were in the low to mid 40 and the ground was a little damp from the previous night’s lite rain. However, the trail wasn’t muddy at all. Once in the higher elevations, the temps remained in the low 40’s with a slight breeze. The bushes and Manzanita trees are a bit overgrown, and they were holding water, so my sleeves and pant legs got a little wet. In, fact, even without the moisture, I would recommend long sleeves and pants otherwise you can get pretty scratched up.
I had the summit all to myself and didn’t run into any other hikers until I was on my descent. Two groups. A pair and a trio.
I dried up pretty well on my way down and temps had risen to somewhere in the mid 50’s.
This was my second peak of the challenge. Now on to peak #3, Volcan Mountain
