Palomar High Point in High Temperature

1. This was my second hike of the 2020 Six Pack.  The weather was completely different from my first hike in the snow…this day was really hot!  It was 90 degrees when we started hiking at 11:00 AM, and it didn’t seem to cool down as we ascended.  We had planned for this to be a somewhat less challenging hike than Hot Springs Mtn, but the heat did us in.  My COVID-19 hiking buddy was having trouble, but we had plenty of water.  So with enough breaks in the little shade we could find, we made it to the top.  Unfortunately the slow progress meant hiking the last 2 miles under a full moon!
