Do you hike with a dog? Share a photo of them in this discussion.

I’ll start. My wife and I have two labradoodles, Lucy (a medium) and Farley (a standard). They have done peaks in the San Diego, SoCal, and Central Oregon challenges, but have yet to finish. 😉

This is Skye. Many of the Nor Cal hikes are in natural area where dogs aren’t permitted. I don’t get that…. But I take Skye everywhere I can

Beautiful Dobie! We had a very good boy named Lucky, who was a red Dobie. They are such sweet dogs.

This is Popo short for Popocatepetl. He’s a pug. He’s done up to a 7 mile hike with me to Sunset Peak but lately gets overheated or tired quickly so I rather not take him on long hikes, rather short walks at the local park. He does love the outdoors and his buddy Gizmo the cat ?.

I just started hiking with my new dog Zona. I rescued her a couple months ago on a trip to the Grand Canyon. She was running loose on the highway in a remote area, so I stopped to scoop her up. No collar or microchip. I recently took her on a 12 mile hike to Ontario Peak and she handled it better than I did!

Awesome Dog! I am sure she is super happy you picked her up and adopted her! What a shame of people that dump their dogs in this manner.

Thanks Tony! Either she was dumped by someone or she might have been a stray dog from the nearby Navajo reservation. Unfortunately, they were hit hard by Covid and have a huge stray dog problem.

This is Lucy, a Havanese, she loves all things trail related. We’re in Central Oregon so we get out often.

This is Freya. She has her own Instagram @hikingwithmyhusky but doesn’t have the stamina to hike more than 3-5 miles. We took her on the West Fork Trail in Sedona in early October, and she loved it, but was wiped out for a day or two. She did well in the McDowells earlier in March. And she loves the snow up in Flagstaff, AZ!

Here’s Maggie May. She is an almost 10-year-old black lab / blue heeler (Australian cattle dog) mix. Last year, she did four of the six peaks for the SoCal challenge with me. She is definitely happiest when she’s on a trail with water. We go all around L.A. County in search of adventure and a place to swim.

This is Fiona ❤️ I rescued her at 9 weeks and she is now a year and a half! She’s my hiking buddy where ever dogs are allowed. I plan on taking her up to Strawberry Peak as long as the weather is on our side. She’s such an amazing pup ❤️❤️
