Group Hike: Stinson Beach to Mount Tamalpais

I will be leading a group hike from Stinson Beach to Mount Tamalpais on Saturday, August 18th. We will be following an out-and-back route via Steep Ravine Canyon and the old stagecoach route to the summit. It's a round trip of about 15 miles with roughly 2,800 vertical feet of climbing.

This is not a guided hike, so you must be self-sufficient as far as food, water, navigation, sun protection and other essentials–but we will be hiking as a group. Joining me will be our two local ambassadors, Emma and Karl.

It's a great opportunity to learn more about the challenge, meet other challengers and have a great time. We'll wrap up with food and beverage at the Siren Canteen on the beach.

    1. Thanks, Gershom! We hope to plan a few more of these and will post them here on the site as well as on the Facebook page.

    1. It’s awesome. You should make the trip up here sometime. It’s possible to do all six peaks in a week, although I personally would split it up over two or three trips. Rose Peak is a doozy, so that might be one of the weekends all by itself.

  1. Hi there, I am doing this challenge this year and wanted to know what was the trail route for this summit? if you could share a few pointers so as to not get lost. Also what time does the trail open?

    1. Hi Deepti! If you go to the Six-Pack of Peaks menu and select NorCal, you’ll get a list of all the peaks along with links to a detailed trail guide with the recommended route. That being said, you CAN modify the route if you like. The key is that it should be a challenge for YOU, and only you know what that means. 🙂
