After starting the day by doing Belknap I was pretty tired getting going on Black Crater. Amazingly though I didn’t start up until around 9 I had the place to myself. The hike was long and fairly strenuous. But not too bad overall. The trail was in good condition. I was very happy to reach the top since it meant I had finished the COSPoP!!

I spent probably 20-30 minutes at the top taking pictures and celebrating. I still had the place to myself. It was glorious. It was very cool to be able to see all of the other summits (except Sutton) from my final one. I did finally see people about 15 minutes after leaving the top. And passed quite a few more on the way down. So my timing was pretty good.

Happy to have completed the challenge!! So what’s next?

    1. Thanks! Not sure on the next adventure. Definitely going to squeeze in a few more fall hikes. I might take the doggo and camp at Ochoco Forest Camp and do Lookout from the lower trail one weekend. If Maiden opens back up I might try to do that one since I missed out and had to do the alternate. If the weather holds out until after Oct 15 I might try to do South Sister again since it was a bit smoky when I went up. I would love to make a trip over to do Sacajawea before the snow sets in, but I don’t know that I will be able to make that one. Once winter hits I plan to do a bunch of snowshoeing.
