This was by far one of my favorites so far of the Arizona six pack.  After traveling about 3 miles on a dirt road we arrived at Peralta Trailhead.  Once we parked and got out of the car there were a couple of trail volunteers ready to chat about the hike and give a few tips, really nice guys!  We got started and it was beautiful and lush and fairly easy to navigate up the trail.  We encountered many very friendly hikers.  Being in this ancient volcanic bowl was breathtaking.  I took a wrong turn at one point but got back to the trail and got to the saddle without further missteps.  It's a stunning view at the saddle and you can look out an see Weaver's Needle and Lone Pine.  Once again, just felt lucky to be able to witness this gorgeous valley and store it all in my memory.  On the way back we spotted a green rat snack slithering off into the brush.  Great hike, great people, great day!!
