This was one of the most difficult hikes I've ever been on! Going up up up took forever and the downs we're killer. The only things keeping me going were the biting flies who were ruthless. This was probably the coolest day Livermore will see this summer, so that was helpful. Besides all kinds of birds, I saw hundreds of squirrels, two rabbits, a snake, paranoid cows, lizards, and the hindquarters of a coyote loping off. Cool lilypads on one of the ponds, too. And lots of interesting gnarly trees. Took me over 10 hours.

I agree! This one “looks” like it’s easy from the photos of rolling hills, but I think it’s the toughest peak in the challenge.
