This was an awesome hike to finish our AZ 6 pack.  From the trailhead the trail starts to climb right away with a lot of loose rock.  About a mile in we reached the small stone building then went looking for the petroglyphs of which we didn't find on this trip.  We had not done our homework on locating so we will get them next time.  They are supposedly up the wash further than we had looked before setting back on the trail.

The overall climb to the peak was a pretty stead ascent and we had a really strong wind to keep us cool.  Once at the peak the wind was so steady and strong it actually became a bit chilly.  Did not cross paths with too many people so there was a lot of peace and quiet.

On the return we followed the loop per the directions.  It could be a bit confusing as the signs don't make it very obvious that you are heading back to King Canyon Trailhead.  The directions posted here helped tremendously and I was fortunate to bring them with me this time.  On the decent the first turn you follow the Sendero Esperanza Trail then at the next intersection follow the Mam-A-Gah Picnic Area

Heading down from the peak on the Sendero Esperanza Trail was very rewarding.  It was absolutely gorgeous, smooth footing and just cover with wildflowers.
