Got to the Rhus Ridge trailhead at around 7:30 and couldn't find any parking. We decided to drive to the suggested starting point at Laura
We hiked on a rainy day and it was beautiful. It wasn't't raining too hard, so it made the hike even more special. The views
We started at Monte Bello Open Space Preserve because it’s a shorter trail to Black Mountain and it’s a good warm-up for more challenging peaks
Trail condition was excellent. Weather was perfect. A little windy and chilly at the top but that’s because I wore shorts. We saw a coyote!
