We started really late in the day but were willing to come down if needed.  There were a few areas of really loose scree with

Perfect morning for Turtlehead. Blue sky and a light breeze. The recent rains made for minimal dust on the trail.

Lots of loose rock the first 2/3 and lots of snow the last 1/3 made for uneven footing the entire hike and very tired legs

Trail was definitely impacted by last year‘s hurricane with the flooding washing out many of the rocks but overall the trail was intact. Trail felt

There were a couple of tarantula hawks at the summit. Good him the last 1/3 is where it gets steep. Great views you can see

As I had no prior reservation, I had to enter Red Rock State park before 8am. That worked out great, only a few fellow hikers
