Volcan Mountain

Cold and windy day for a hike, especially as I neared the summit.  Getting to the trailhead was easy and there was plenty of parking

Thick fog at our  7am start to the hike that never broke. We observed lots of animal scat and heard coyotes howling in the distance.

Beautiful hike, though the wind near the summit was insane. Recommend layers.

Trail “opens” at 0800 but there were a few people on the trail before then. Check the weather and make sure you have layers. It
