I’ve been looking forward to this hike since I signed up for this challenge, and it did not disappoint! So glad I read the trip reports before going as the prep and advice made this hike a much better experience, especially the globe advice. So thanks to all who wrote there trip reports.
We had a beautiful day with the temps around 86 degrees. The skies were beautiful blue against the deep burnt orange color of this mountain.
I would like to emphasize that this peak is definitely not for any who has a fear of heights as some of the rope climbs are very steep and challenging. Especially coming down. I’m not afflicted with this fear so for me it was FUN! We decided to come down the sunset trail and walk back to our camp at the Picacho State campground. Even though it was hot, this was a nice trek thought the Saguaro Forest.
