Hi Jenny!
If you go here: https://socialhiker.net/product-category/apparel/norcal/
you can see both the 2021 and 2020 options. When you open up the detail view for each, there is a size guide that will give you the exact measurements of each shirt.
We will add the women's cut shirt later this month, so if you're looking for that, it's coming. 😉

Yes, Mount Wilson's fire closure order is until April 2022, although it's subject to be amended. We have a note in the registration that if any of the three original peaks (Mount Wilson, San Bernardino Peak and San Gorgonio) re-open during 2021, they will be added to the challenge as options.

Hi Kelly!
Santiago Peak is open from the Maple Springs Trailhead. You can see the hike logs — when you open one you'll see which trailhead they started from. https://socialhiker.net/six-pack-peaks-challenge/southern-california/2020-hike-logs/santiago-peak/

The 2020 challenge ends on December 31, 2020. Technically, registration closed on November 30, 2020, but if you're set on registering to see your name on the finishers list, here's a direct link:
https://socialhiker.net/product/2020-norcal-six-pack-of-peaks-challenge-registration/
Note that if you've already hiked some or all of the peaks in 2020, they can count. They just need to be logged.

Jason, sadly, all three are currently closed due to this year's wildfires.
Mount Wilson isn't scheduled to reopen until April 2022. San Bernardino and San Gorgonio we don't know yet. If by chance any of these peaks reopens sometime in 2021, they will be added to challenge as peaks you can choose from.

AdministratorOctober 12, 2020 at 3:26 pm in reply to: Aftermath of the Bobcat Fire and the Fate of Mt. WilsonYes, Mount Wilson, San Bernardino Peak, and San Gorgonio are effectively “off the table” for the remainder of the 2020 challenge (and a good part of 2021).
Closures aren't new to the challenge. We've faced this before and it's why there are the alternate peaks. Challengers can still complete six peaks even if they haven't started yet choosing from the peaks that are still open.
While these closures won't prevent anyone from making the official finishers list, it may prevent people from joining the “All 18” finishers list (if they need one of those three peaks and didn't hike them before the closures).
It's good to remember that this is still the SIX-Pack of Peaks Challenge (not 12 or 18) and other than bragging rights, there is no additional prize or reward for those who have joined those lists.

Yes! We have extended the deadline of the 2020 AZ Summer challenge to November 30th. Obviously, there's always the chance for snow, so keep an eye on the forecast.

Thanks to the pandemic, there will be no in-person awards dinner. 🙁
Instead, we will be doing something similar to what we did for the “virtual” finishers party we held in May for the Arizona challenge: https://socialhiker.net/recap-of-the-2020-arizona-winter-six-pack-of-peaks-challenge/
The certificates and finisher patches (new for SoCal!) will be sent out at the actual end of the challenge (early January 2021). Our party will also be held sometime in early January. This allows everyone plenty of time to finish and get recognition.
We will still do the gear giveaways, with special guests and more, and rather than just those who finished by September 30th, ALL the finishers can participate.

If you're feeling ambitious, you can also add Torreys Peak on the same hike (two 14ers). October is shoulder season, and pretty much anything that high up is subject to snow, so consider yourself warned.

The date to complete the challenge is December 31, 2020. ????

You got it, David! 🙂

AdministratorJuly 17, 2020 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Will May/June 2020 hikes be honored retrospectively if I sign up now?Hi Naveen! Yes, as long as they were hiked between the start and finish date for a challenge, they can count. Once you register, you'll log the hikes like you would any other. To do this, you'll need to know the date of your hike(s), the trailhead used, and share a little about the trip.
Look forward to seeing your hike logs!

Hey Freddy! I'm going to suggest two resources. First, be sure to check the latest Mount San Jacinto hike logs. You can click through to view the details, and leave comments to ask questions.
Second, check out Mountain-Forecast. You can view the forecast for a specific elevation (like at the summit, or the trailhead).
