I just started hiking with my new dog Zona. I rescued her a couple months ago on a trip to the Grand Canyon. She was running loose on the highway in a remote area, so I stopped to scoop her up. No collar or microchip. I recently took her on a 12 mile hike to Ontario Peak and she handled it better than I did!

Right now my goal is to hike Mt. Shasta next spring. Has anyone else hiked Shasta before? Any tips on how to get ready for Shasta?

My plan b is to do one of the San Diego challenge hikes. It looks like a couple of them (CUYAMACA PEAK and HOT SPRINGS MOUNTAIN) aren't located in national forest land and should be open. Correct me If I am wrong.

Hi all. I am new to this site and looking to hike Sawmill as my first peak of the challenge. Is anybody else interested in hiking Sawmill sometime in April? Has anyone hiked it recently? If so, how was it?

Thanks Tony! Either she was dumped by someone or she might have been a stray dog from the nearby Navajo reservation. Unfortunately, they were hit hard by Covid and have a huge stray dog problem.
