Broadcast Peak
About this peak
Broadcast Peak is a 4,000-foot summit on the crest of the Santa Ynez Mountains above Santa Barbara. The Six-Pack route follows the Tequepis Trail from near Lake Cachuma up to West Camino Cielo before the final push to the summit, about 8.75 miles with roughly 3,241 feet of gain. The trail is largely exposed with little shade, so spring and fall are the best seasons.

Hazards
The trail is steep and largely exposed with very little shade, so summer can be too hot and winter cold and rainy. Expect several seasonal creek crossings that require rock-hopping after rain. The trail was closed for a time after the 2017 Whittier Fire, so check forest alerts for current closures. The final push from the crest to the summit follows a loose, steep old hill-climb track.
