Ambassador Spotlight: TJ Lopez

Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do when you’re not hiking?

In my free time, I love spending time with my family and shooting photography.

What has the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge meant to you?

The Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge has kept me motivated to stay active and train for upcoming hikes.

What is your favorite hike in the Six-Pack of Peaks and why?

So far it's Mt. Wilson here in Las Vegas but can't wait to explore other peaks.

Share one of your most memorable adventures. What makes it so special?

It would have to be my 2018 JMT section hike. Having not hiked more than 60 miles previously this long section hike really pushed me to my limits. Having achieved this was my wife and two other friends and making it to the end was definitely something very special to me.

What’s one piece of gear that you never hike without?

Day hikes would have to be a luxury item, my camera. For my long through hikes, I'd never hike without my trekking poles.

Share a quote, song, or another inspirational item that helps get you through the toughest hikes/life moments.

I'm definitely a music guy. Right now my go to song is by a band called Grey Daze and the song is Morei Sky.

What upcoming adventures are you looking forward to in the year ahead?

Looking forward to my AZT section hike with my friend Toast from Evergreen Adventure Foods.

Share a fun fact about you that most people wouldn’t know.

I was once an Assistant Women's Volleyball coach at the College of Southern Idaho where I won a National Championship as a coach.
