Bear Mountain, one hikes in the Arizona Sunmer Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge, kicked my butt last Saturday, but it's still my favorite Sedona hike next to West Fork. I'd climbed it in October and in November previously. Much smarter! Don't do this one when it's 100 degrees in Sedona.

The flowers are from Buffalo Park, where I've done two of my long training runs for the NYC Marathon.

The third photo was taken this Sunday just as the sun came up at Arizona Falls in Phoenix, AZ, on the Canal trail.

We mostly walk or run in our neighborhood, but my Husky does enjoy some of the shorter trails when it isn't so hot.

This is Freya. She has her own Instagram @hikingwithmyhusky but doesn't have the stamina to hike more than 3-5 miles. We took her on the West Fork Trail in Sedona in early October, and she loved it, but was wiped out for a day or two. She did well in the McDowells earlier in March. And she loves the snow up in Flagstaff, AZ!

This year will be hard to beat, but my 2022 goal is to venture beyond AZ to hike. Bryce is on my bucket list.

Thanks to the Summer and Winter Six-Pack of Peaks challenges, I ventured beyond Phoenix this year to Tucson, Sedona, and Flagstaff. All terrific hikes! But Phoenix has a lot to offer too. Hope you get here in 2022!
