Dunno if this is where I should share this, but I need some accountability (and perhaps a gold star ⭐).

Monday: Five miles on Gabrielino Trail starting at JPL in Pasadena, Calif.

Tuesday: 12-weeks to Hike Fit Challenge Workout (2 1/2 times — the gym was closing #sad)

Wednesday: 12-weeks to Hike Fit Challenge Workout (3 times)

Thursday: 5.2 miles, about 1,000 feet gained at Griffith Park in L.A. (with Sierra Club, very fun)

Friday: 12-weeks to Hike Fit Challenge Workout. (3 times) 1.4 miles at a very quick pace.

Saturday: Be a potato. Or 12-weeks to Hike Fit Challenge Workout if I'm feeling spunky.

Howdy! I am using the 12-week challenge to be more intentional in my workouts. I look forward to gaining strength and am thankful for the structured workout ideas.

ohhhhhhhhhh this is tempting! I did a few Tough Mudders when I lived in OKC. My buddy and I would drive down to Dallas for it. I think when we did them, they were around 10 to 12 miles. I've been meaning to get back to it…

Maggie May, our 10-year-old black lab / Australian cattle dog mix. We moved to L.A. five years ago, and Maggie has covered many miles, including during last year's Six-Pack SoCal challenge when she hiked Mt. Baden Powell, Cucamonga, Ontario and Baldy! She is truly my favorite hiking partner.

Here's Maggie May. She is an almost 10-year-old black lab / blue heeler (Australian cattle dog) mix. Last year, she did four of the six peaks for the SoCal challenge with me. She is definitely happiest when she's on a trail with water. We go all around L.A. County in search of adventure and a place to swim.

Great question. Let's see: For next year's Socal challenge, I wanna hike Mt. San Jacinto and Mt. San Gorgonio, and do Baldy again.

Really hoping to do Half Dome, and also Mt. Whitney if I can get an overnight permit (not sure I could do it in a day!)

I've never been backpacking, so I'm hoping to get at least a few trips under my belt. I will probably do an easy one somewhere close in Angeles NF. Big goal is to take a backpacking trip to an alpine lake, maybe the Little Lakes Valley Trail. Recommendations very welcome.

it is an amazing community of folks. I really love that it's not a race, and that is heavily emphasized.
